Welcome to Lucky Ewe at Buchanan Lake! With a main house, a guest house, & a smoke house, you can relax and unwind by the lake, soak up the insta-worthy views and enjoy your refreshing change-of-scenery. The lake is full and dock is ready for your boat, or your fishing pole! The main house and guest house provide perfect accommodations for when you want to be close with privacy. The park-like setting provides direct access to Buchanan Lake. The outdoor firepit is the family favorite spot for making s'mores. We provide propane BBQ plus smoke house smoker, yard games, & plenty of board games...or you can just relax with the lake as your backdrop.
Located 15 miles from Highway 29, this peaceful get-away offers great lakeside seclusion with perfect opportunities for relaxation as well as multiple lake recreation activities.
-You'll have the entire lakefront property to yourself!
-Screened-in smoke house perfect for Texas BBQ :-)
-Private Boat Dock for fishing, playing, and your boat.
-Community boat ramp just around the corner from the property.
-Kayaks are available for use and stored on the boat dock in racks along the entry plank.
Other things to note
-We allow up to 10 people to stay at the property, but there are only two bathrooms and a total of two queen beds plus a twin over double bunk bed. Other sleeping arrangements are couches and inflatable mattresses.
- Even with our regular pest management services, it's possible you may encounter wildlife and other creatures at this property, including fire ants, scorpions, wasps, and snakes. Enjoy but be careful and stay on our property at your own risk.
-The boat dock has some loose deck boards--Use at your own risk and be careful!
-You are welcome to fish off the private dock, but be careful--There are shallow areas that are not safe for jumping in.
-The window shades make it quite dark for sleeping in, but they are not full black-out.
-There is no closet in the guesthouse, but there is a shelving unit with a place to hang clothes.
-The guest house has one queen bed, large couch, bathroom and kitchenette. The kitchenette has a two-burner countertop stove, toaster oven, microwave, small refrigerator, coffee maker & is stocked with basic cooking supplies.
-The main house has one queen bed (primary bedroom) plus a twin over double bunk bed (pass through bedroom), one bath, a full kitchen with supplies and a dishwasher.
- Enjoy rural Texas Hill Country in this small community on the lake. There is a small market down the street (J & S), but the closest grocery store is about 20-30 minutes away.
Items to note
Regarding pets, the pet fee is just $145 flat if you have up to three. We ask that you only bring well-behaved pets who are house-trained :) You are responsible for picking up after any pet brought to the property, any damage or disturbance caused by pets, and accept all liability for incidents involving pets. Thank you!
*If you plan on bringing pets, the yard is not fully fenced in due to waterfront situation.
*Please note that all water activities are subject to lake water levels. As of Summer 2025, the lake is full!
Guest limits: This property has a guest limit of 8 standard and 10 maximum. Extra guest fees apply beyond standard occupancy.
Guest access: You will have private access to the entire property and all structures, with the exception of several supply cabinets.

Summary: Our family spent Thanksgiving at the property and really enjoyed ourselves! The waters edge was farther back due to lake conditions but that didn't hinder us at all. Property was clean and had a well stocked kitchen for making Thanksgiving dinner. We loved the fire pit, the secondary part of the property for our kids, and the proximity to Inks Lake State Park where we hiked. The local convenience store helped round out anything we needed when we weren't in town. Highly recommend for a quiet, relaxing getaway!

Summary: The only bummer was the water level but they can't be helped. There was literally everything we could need there and plenty of extras of everything. Easiest check in and out we've ever had

Summary: Hey there, it’s Jayden a 2 day stay customer! I gather every friend’s(4) opinion to make this review precise and accurate on this place! When we first got there we gave a total of 8/10 and after the stay at this place we gave a total 6.5/10. We will run down the list first problem was the amount of spiders here, second would have been the grill we tried to use spider webs all over and grill was dirt which we did try to clean with the little dirty cleaning brush we found but it was not working well so we abandoned the BBQ grill so we went to the smoker but then again amount of spiders and wasp we said that’s a no go too. Next would be the new pit they have in there back yard with bricks around it so the pictures they have aren’t that much accurate when it comes to the outside specially the lake beach part because it’s a good minute or 2 walk till you get to the water which we were warned about even offered a full refund at first by the main man Tim that owns the place but the interior is pretty much accurate besides that wood bunk bed it was actually a gray metal one! They did have complementary stuff as well in both bathrooms which we all liked, tons of towels too in both bathrooms so no need to worry about that and same with pillows for the beds lots of extra pillows. We had wifi in both guest and main house and the doors have codes for both of them so no key needed. I guess the real question is if we would stay here again? “Less Bugs, More Modern” and “only if I had to”

Summary: I'm conflicted on this review - the property was clean and with lots of sundries and supplies, beds were great, firepiit nice, no complaints, overall very good. However, with the lake withdrawn for years around a half mile from the house, this was not even close to waterfront pic they proudly show on the site. Yes, there was a clear disclaimer in the text, so no bait and switch, but leaving the photo up today with the lake down for years, then placing the disclaimer in to avoid liability, well it just doesn't seem to be upfront. Sort of a marketing gimmick. How easy to just replace the photo so people know what they are getting? Why leave a misleading impression? The house is priced right on by the night on first look but with a large cleaning fee you don't see until you checkout, its a good deal but not a great deal. Its all disclosed but only after you fall in love with the great - while in reality its just good. However these days, Good works.
